My story
About me
I am a 55 years old professional photographer based in Signes in the Var. I often travel nationally (Paris, Nice, Cannes (Festival de Cannes), but also Calais and Landes region (Hossegor / Labenne). I am self-taught, obstinate, meticulous and demanding in life as in my work. I started photography very early, I was about fifteen years old with a Zenith silver camera, to come to the Canon brand to which I remained faithful.
I then turned to black and white photo development to quickly transform the bathroom into a real photographic laboratory, where I made my first poster enlargements, photo montages and localized colorizations (bouquets of flowers...etc)
The advent of digital photography with the appearance of the first sensors, memory cards and especially the arrival of Adobe Photoshop software completely revolutionized my vision of photography.
At the end of the 90s, I bought a Canon 300 D and discovered Photoshop 4 and its multiple possibilities (for the time). Adobe and Canon will remain since then, the master pieces of my creations, Photoshop being completed later by the Lightroom software.
Self-taught, I am and continue to be:
If I had to thank a specific internet platform it would be Youtube. I address myself to all the budding photographers... " Youtube is a real gold mine, where you just have to look ".
"Everything is possible for those who dream, dare, work and never give up" (Xavier Dolan)
"In photography, Yann Arthus Bertrand said,
"it is not the photographer who is important" ..... It is you!
Simply come.....!
They inspired me
Four authors (I think we can consider them as such) have particularly helped and inspired me in my training over all these years.
Sebastien Roignant for his trainings concerning the shootings, the wedding photography, the marketing and his mastery of Photoshop and Lightroom
Blaise Fiedler for his approach of the street studio and flash lighting.
The LozeaThey inspired me
u workshops for their approach to studio photography
And finally, Serge Ramelli for his approach of Lightroom and Photoshop.

THE MATERIALS
Canon 7 D, then 5D Mark 3 and finally Canon 5D mark4, the evolution followed its course, the panel of the lenses became richer, the lighting and its modifiers diversified, the portable photo studio developed, until becoming waterproof, to allow me to specialize in the aquatic photo shooting.
The fascinating world of aquatic photography
How and why come to aquatic photography?
Like any beginner, I started in photography with very cheap models, very demanding, but very easy to find without internet network:
nature
This allowed me to develop the mastery of my equipment, to develop the techniques of shooting and especially to develop the « eye of the photographer ».
My initial training as a lifeguard, more particularly on the south-west coast of France, where I was employed as a lifeguard for 18 years to secure beaches of more than 3800 people at peak periods, opened my eyes to a new playground: the world of surfing.
I have been working on several beaches – Hossegor, Mimizan, Capbreton – where I started as a simple team member.
Then Chief of the first aid station during 13 years to finally finish my career as Chief of the beach of Capbreton.
All these years on the Landes coast, cost me a lot of breakage and drowning of photographic equipment on the sandbanks, big scares in water rollers of 2 to 2.50 m, but what a satisfaction to come back with unique images of caves and « glass ceiling ».
The idea came afterwards, to marry the photo shooting of model to the aquatic world.
First tests in the pool and then in the sea, expansion of the wardrobe and accessories, female and male models, mermaids….the adventure started about ten years ago has become a real passion, which is not ready to fade away.
Welcome to my world.

the models are talking about me

If you want to live a unique experience with wonderful aquatic pictures, it is with Patrice that you should do it.
He is very professional and fun at the same time, which puts the model at ease and the photos are sublime.
I did two shoots with him and I'm a fan of his artistic work, his post-processing work is magnificent, I recommend 200%.

Patrice is a great photographer, a real artist, he is very professional and moreover very nice!
In aquatic shooting, Patrice is just incredible. Despite the cold, he didn't hesitate to stay in the water until he got the images he needed.
The result is beautiful, the retouching done with care. He does a lot of work to process each photo and make his models look great.
I recommend Patrice's work with my eyes closed! Thanks again to you Partice, it was a real pleasure to work with you!

I discovered through this shooting a passionate and talented photographer
This shooting was a real moment of sharing, I felt in confidence and it allowed me to relax because in apnea early in the morning in rather cold water it was not easy
Thanks to you for your trust and your help
I let you observe the beautiful work
Thank you 🙏

An incredibly talented photographer! He knows how to make you feel at ease, and the shootings are always moments of happiness and laughter!
Don't hesitate for a second, go for it!
I'm looking forward to his return to the Noooooorth ☺️

What to say about Patrice, a man with a big heart, smiling and joking! Two photo sessions realized with him (one in La Ciotat and one in Paris) which are more than successful with beautiful pictures! I recommend him enormously.
I hope to see you soon for other shooting if you are still interested

Despite my fear of water, Patrice took the time to reassure me and to take advantage of my efforts. Then the meticulous work that followed, and a great result! Professionalism and seriousness combined with a great sense of humor!

If you are looking for an excellent photographer for an underwater shooting, I recommend Patrice Laporte: very professional, talented, very original and artistic ideas, and very nice, in short, the best! Thanks to you Patrice!

Excellent photographer, very professional, very nice, puts the models at ease, too bad he doesn't come often to Corsica
